SA sees nation’s largest increase in engineering construction Back

03 May 2010

A recent report by the ABS shows South Australia recorded a 66 percent increase in engineering construction during 2009 – the largest increase in the nation. The State generated $1,347 million worth of work in the industry during the last quarter of 2009, up from $810 million in the final quarter of 2008.

The report indicates engineering infrastructure work in South Australia has been rising since 2007 and is largely due to increased public works such as the tramline extension and desalination pipeline.
