SA Government launches new facility at Techport Australia Back
11 March 2010
The Government of South Australia has unveiled a new Common User Facility last month at the $300 million Techport Australia naval hub in Osborne.
Standing as the centrepiece of the Techport Australia site, the Common User Facility was developed using state-owned infrastructure and spans 8 hectares to include a wharf, runway, dry berth, transfer system and the largest shiplift in the Southern Hemisphere.
The facility will play a key role in assisting ASC to build Air Warfare Destroyers in the nearby shipbuilding facility by providing flexible access for partnering companies, suppliers and contractors. (Source: Techport Australia Launch Program).
