Port Lincoln foreshore set to become greener Back
15 June 2010
Port Lincoln's foreshore, parks and gardens will soon become greener through extra irrigation from treated wastewater.
More than $200 000 in grant money has been provided by the Regional Development Infrastructure Fund to extend wastewater pipes and add eight water storage tanks to sites in the area.
The service will provide the town with an extra 69 000 kilolitres of irrigation water, significantly aiding the town's water consumption efforts.
The broader Eyre Peninsula community is also expected to enjoy flow-on benefits from the project through new jobs, improved production capacity and economic development.
