NAB supports Julian Burton Burns Trust’s Ice Cocktail Party Back
26 July 2011
National Australia Bank (NAB) and the Julian Burton Burns Trust brought together more than 400 South Australian business people on Saturday 16 July for the Burns Trust’s major fundraiser of the year.
The “Ice Cocktail Party,” held at the newly opened Adelaide Oval Function Centre, raised funds to support young burns patient, Dylan Knudson, and his family on the road to recovery. NAB was the major sponsor of the event.
Twelve year-old Dylan sustained third degree burns to two thirds of his body after a barbeque accident. He now requires life-long treatment and frequent trips to Adelaide – a three hour drive from his family’s home in Berri.
The Ice Cocktail Party raised enough funds to purchase a new car for Dylan and his family. NAB Retail State General Manager SA & NT, Mr Dion Crowe, said NAB was proud to be the major sponsor of the event.
“At NAB, we believe that supporting our customers includes supporting the local communities in which they live and work,” said Mr Crowe.
“The Julian Burton Burns Trust is a fantastic South Australian organisation undertaking much needed work to prevent the incidence of burns injuries and assist burns patients to recover.
“We are pleased to work with the Burns Trust to host their major fundraiser of the year and raise money for families such as the Knudsons.”
Julian Burton Burns Trust Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Mr Julian Burton OAM said it was great to have NAB on board.
“It was a great night that helped Dylan and his family on the road to recovery,” Mr Burton said.
