NAB report shows SMEs continue to outperform the nation
NAB’s quarterly survey released this week shows that despite a fall in business conditions across the country, South Australia’s small-medium sized businesses continue to remain the best overall performers in the nation.
The report shows conditions in the March quarter of 2010 remained stronger for SA SMEs than in the September quarter for 2009, with the State’s 12-month profit outlook remaining positive at 34 index points – just 1 index point down from last quarter.
These results compare strongly against Queensland and Western Australia, which both fell into negative figures in the March quarter, while both Victoria and New South Wales saw significant declines in index figures.
“This is a reflection of the measured and strategic approach to growth adopted by the State’s SMEs,” said NAB State General Manager nabbusiness, Ms Jacqui Colwell.
