Minda set to redevelop Brighton campus Back

01 July 2010

The State's oldest disability service provider, Minda Incorporated, has announced it will redevelop its 28-hectare Brighton campus to meet the future needs of South Australians with intellectual disabilities.

Minda's Chief Executive Officer, Ms Cathy Miller, said the redevelopment's Master Plan would provide accommodation, care and support for 1500 individuals who rely on the organisation for their ongoing quality of life.

"The Master Plan incorporates individual housing, support facilities, administrative buildings, a stormwater detention basin and environmental sustainability hub," said Ms Miller.

"It also takes into account the need to include commercial opportunities, such as retirement living for the broader community, to help offset the redevelopment costs."

To ensure the campus' sand dunes and open spaces are protected, the Master Plan will only involve construction on 14 percent of the land.
