The Fringe Festival in Adelaide, Australia’s largest arts festival, this year boasts 759 events in 325 venues during its stand from 18 February to 13 March.
“Adelaide Fringe goes from strength to strength each year thanks to artists who put together exciting, innovative and wide ranging work for audiences to enjoy. It’s terrific that the program is another record breaker with 759 entries, showing that more and more artists are choosing Adelaide Fringe as a platform for their work,” says Fringe Chair, Judy Potter.
In 2011 the BankSA Support Act program continues its generous financial support, purchasing tickets at full prices from more than 110 Adelaide Fringe shows and offering them to the public for only $10.
“Bank SA has been along for the Adelaide Fringe ride since 2006 and we’re ecstatic to be backing it for years to come through programs such as the highly successful Support Act and talkfringe.com,” says Bank SA MD, Jane Kittel.
“The sheer breadth, depth and variety of the program is mind-boggling and I can’t wait to experience as much Fringe fun as I can.”
Adelaide Fringe Director and Chief Executive, Greg Clarke thanks “all the extraordinary companies, producers, venue managers and individual artists who with unrelenting energy work so hard to present their work. Now it’s up to all of us to get out, dive in and discover the vast range of exceptional experiences these artists have created”.
This year the Fringe will partner with SCVNGR, a social media game which encourages fans participation in challenges, earning points and unlocking fantastic rewards. Adelaide Fringe has created three SCVNGR treks that will help locals and visitors alike rediscover the changing city throughout the festival and share their experiences with friends online. offered by the University of Adelaide.
