Coopers Brewery expands production to 90 million litres Back
10 August 2010
SA's Coopers Brewery has announced it will add a second shift to its production lines from September in a bid to deliver up to 90 million litres of beer each year.
Coopers has employed a team of eight permanent staff for the shift, which is usually only run on a 12-week basis over summer to support Christmas sales.
"This year we extended the post-Christmas second shift until May because of the exceptional take-up of our new lagers, Coopers Clear and Coopers 62, and ongoing demand for our traditional products, Coopers Pale Ale and Sparkling Ale, particularly interstate," said Coopers Managing Director, Dr Tim Cooper.
"We now believe the time has come to make the second shift a permanent feature and this will commence from early September."
In the 09/10 financial year, Coopers produced a record 62 million litres of beer – the first time in the company's 148 year history it has brewed more than 60 million litres a year.
