Australian Dance Theatre launches Ignition 2010 in Adelaide Back
16 July 2010
SA-based Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) is set to launch its 2010 Ignition season in August in association with Adelaide Festival Centre’s inSPACE program.
Following a wave of reality TV dance shows, the Ignition series encourages audiences to question what is dance and can anyone do it?
Curated by ADT’s Artistic Director, Garry Stewart, the 2010 Ignition season featured new works choreographed and performed by ADT dancers including Larissa McGowan, Kyle Page and Chris Aubrey.
“By challenging the Ignition choreographers to think beyond their training and experience, I want the season to stretch the general concept of what and should be considered dance,” said Garry Stewart.
Adelaide audiences can catch Ignition from 18 – 21 August 2010. Tickets on sale through BASS on 131 246 or at www.bass.net.au.
Ignition will also tour through Murray Bridge on 26 August 2010 as part of the Ripples Murray Bridge 2010 project. Book now on 8539 1100.
