CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT

The Chairman acknowledged the past and present Board members and thanked them for their work and support while on the Board. He also expressed how proud he was for how far Advantage SA has come over the last few years, especially the last three years, with the new branding strategy and positioning, and the new premises.

The Chairman acknowledged the introduction of new Auditors, which he considers to be a good move.

He also acknowledged Frank Filosi as the Chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee. He and Nikki have worked well together with great results in terms of financial transparency and management. The operational aspect of Advantage SA were in better shape than it has ever been.

The Chairman congratulated Nikki on her work in building the BuySA program and the rebranding of SA Great to Advantage SA.

The Chairman acknowledged the quality of the programs delivered and is delighted at the outstanding team Nikki has working with her, especially her Senior Managers.

The Chairman reported he was delighted to be sitting in new premises, which reflects our new brand, how we should be position in the market, and having neighbours in the same precinct, which we are able to work closely with.

The Chairman congratulated and acknowledged Nikki Hamdorf’s role as project manager. She did an excellent job project managing the new premises.

The Chairman acknowledged the people who have been working in the Committees and their importance to the organisation. He said it have been very encouraging to see the level of Media engagement achieved in the last few years.

The Chairman noted that he was personally disappointed with the South Australian Government's funding decision, especially the decision that led to the demise of the SABAN program. However, there may be opportunities in the future.

The Chairman discussed the restructuring of the SA on Show funding which was used to secure 3 years funding and to help continue to provide high quality programs.

The Chairman acknowledged the huge amount of work Nikki put into the SA on Show program and hoped the program is on hiatus as he is confident there will be an opportunity to once again bring it back on the table.

The Chairman thanked the members of Advantage SA especially the Foundation members, as its not just about the contribution they make in membership but their continuing support as well as the Media Partners and their support throughout the year.

Nigel again thanked the Board for their hard work and commitment to the organisation, and asked Nikki to thank the Advantage SA team on behalf of all the Board members.

Nigel once again thanked Nikki who has been a fantastic CEO to work with and knows will continue to work well with Frank, as the new Chairman.

Nigel acknowledged and thanked outgoing Board members George Fiacchi and John Chaplin for their commitment to Board, and formally welcomed James Pedersen onto the Board.
