Adelaide ranked Australia’s most eco-friendly city Back
10 June 2010
Adelaide has been named the nation’s most eco-friendly city and ranked the 7th most environmentally sustainable city in the world according to the 2010 Mercer Quality of Living Survey.
Adelaide beat other major cities including Copenhagen in Denmark, Oslo in Norway and Stockholm in Sweden when it came to air pollution, traffic congestion and waste removal.
South Australia is also leading the way with other sustainable initiatives, recording the highest proportion of grid-connected solar systems and rainwater tanks installed in households across the country.
