09 August 2010

Nominations are now open for the 2010 South Australian of the Year Awards. Every year, the Awards recognise and reward those who have made outstanding contributions to our State.

2009 South Australian of the Year winner, eminent trauma specialist Dr Bill Griggs AM ASM, said that the Awards provide recognition to those who are making a positive impact on the State.

"I was born in South Australia and have lived here for most of my life. I am extremely proud of South Australian achievements. In my field as in other fields, we often seem to punch above our weight. I am very proud to be part of the South Australian family."

"Being named South Australian of the Year was a very special acknowledgement for me, and the great people I work with," Dr Griggs said.

"If you know someone who is making a positive difference in our State, nominate them for a South Australian of the Year Award today.
