Nominations are now open for the 2011 South Australian of the Year Awards. Every year, the Awards recognise and reward those who have made outstanding contributions to our State.
2010 South Australian of the Year winner, culinary icon Maggie Beer, said that the Awards provide recognition to those who are making a positive impact on the State.
“I came to live in South Australia in April 1973 and immediately felt connected to it as my home. Since then I have revelled in all that South Australia has to offer and know that there is no other place in the world I want to be.”

The 2011 South Australian of the Year and Young South Australian of the Year winners will be announced at one of the State’s renowned gala events, the Advantage SA Annual Dinner on Friday 4 November 2011.

The BHP Billiton Young South Australian of the Year Award
The Grant Burge Wines Arts category
The Telstra Business category
The Mitsubishi Motors Community category
The Flinders University Education category
The Hames Sharley Environment category
The WorkCover SA Health category
The Innovate SA Innovation category
The South Australian Jockey Club Sports category
The Adelaide Casino Tourism category
Nominees must be residents of South Australia and Australian citizens. Nominees for Young South Australian of the Year must be 35 years of age or under at the closing date of nominations. Self-nominations are accepted. Full eligibility and selection criteria is available at www.advantagesa.com.au.
Nominations can be obtained by collecting a nomination form from any Bendigo Bank branch, in The Advertiser and Sunday Mail newspapers or nominate online at www.advantagesa.com.au.
