30 April 2010
Advantage SA will next week host key interstate and international journalists on a tour which will showcase innovative businesses, initiatives and practices in South Australia.
Sponsored by Westpac and Innovate SA and supported by the Government of South Australia, the tour will be held on Tuesday 4 May across metropolitan South Australia. Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith said that the tour would expose the journalists to some of the State’s leading innovative businesses.
“South Australian businesses are seen as some of the most innovative in Australia and indeed the world. The tour features a fast-paced itinerary of behind the scenes site visits, briefings and panel discussions in an effort to showcase our State’s innovation success stories,” Ms Seymour-Smith said.
“We are joined on this tour by journalists representing key interstate and international outlets including The Australian, Biotechnology News, Business Review Weekly, AAP and Swiss daily newspaper Neue Zurcher Zeitung, as well as local representation from major media partner The Advertiser.“
Thirty-five South Australian business leaders will join the media on the tour as a key benefit of their Advantage SA Foundation membership.
The innovative practices of South Australian companies including SCF Containers, SAGE Automation, Redarc, TGR Bio Sciences and Vaxine Development Company will be featured in the tour. Highlights of the tour will include a site visit of the BioSA incubator, Australia’s first dedicated bioscience incubator and an informative panel discussion facilitated by Innovate SA CEO Greg Boundy.
Advantage SA’s Interstate Media Program looks to challenge and alter the perceptions held by editors and key interstate media representatives regarding South Australia. It aims to profile South Australia as a visionary, creative, and innovative State, while providing an informative hands-on experience that highlights the key advantages of the State.
