Nominations are now open for the 2010 annual Advantage SA Regional Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievement in regional South Australia.

Nominations are open to individuals, groups and businesses who live and/or work in regional South Australia in the categories of Arts, Community Group, Community Individual, Tourism, Sports, Small Business, Large Business, Innovation, Sustainability and Youth.

The 2010 Regional Awards mark the first year under the new name and revised direction, Advantage SA, the evolution of SA Great.

Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith encourages South Australians to support the 2010 awards and recognise regional excellence.

“I encourage South Australians to put forward nominations for individuals, groups and businesses for the 2010 Regional Awards and ensure that our regional successes are duly recognised and celebrated,” Nikki said.

The 2010 Advantage SA Regional Awards program was launched on Friday 26 March at a cocktail event held at the Hilton Adelaide. The event celebrated the winners of the 2009 Advantage SA Regional Awards, and announced the inductees in to the 2010 Telstra Hall of Fame.

Four renowned regional businesses, Beerenberg, Longview Wines, Rich and Lingering and Riverland Youth Theatre were inducted in to the 2010 Telstra Hall of Fame which recognises those who have received three or more awards in the event’s eleven-year history.

2010 winners will be announced at the Advantage SA Regional Awards ceremonies held annually in seven different regions across country South Australia. For the first time in 2010, Regional Awards nominees can also nominate for the 2010 South Australian of the Year Awards.

Nominations can be made online by visiting www.advantagesa.com.au, or by collecting a nomination form available from local outlets including visitor centres, shopping centres, Telstra dealerships, Regional Development Australia offices or by calling Advantage SA on 08 8211 8111.

Nominations for this year’s Advantage SA Regional Awards will close Friday 4 June 2010.
