Next week Advantage SA will host several key interstate media representatives in a tour that will uniquely highlight the State’s efforts towards achieving environmental sustainability.

Held from 16-17 February, the tour will focus on the environmental efforts of a number of leading South Australian organisations across the State.

“Joining us on this Interstate Media Tour will be a group of journalists from key publications including the Australian Financial Review, The Australian and The Economist, as well as local representation from The Advertiser, AAP, Mid North Broadcaster and Flinders News.” said Advantage SA Chief Executive Nikki Seymour-Smith.

“With many organisations working to reduce their carbon footprint and impact on the environment, sustainability and renewable energy are hot topics. We have a busy two-day schedule ahead for the media showcasing South Australian initiatives towards achieving environmental sustainability.”

The tour will commence with a briefing by the Premier, the Hon. Mike Rann MP, before travelling to locations throughout metropolitan Adelaide and regional South Australia including Burra and the Barossa Valley. Representatives from more than 20 SA businesses will also join the media on the tour, a key benefit of their Advantage SA Foundation membership.

The sustainability projects of companies including AGL, Hames Sharley, Orlando Wines, Solar Shop Australia, Yalumba, Petratherm, Tarac Technologies and Wave Rider Energy will be featured in the tour. Guests will travel in Adelaide City Council’s Tindo, the world’s first solar powered electric bus, and the recently launched Hybrid Toyota Camry.

Supported by the Government of South Australia, Advantage SA’s Interstate Media Program looks to challenge and alter the perceptions held by editors and key interstate media representatives regarding South Australia. It aims to profile South Australia as a visionary, creative, and innovative State, while providing an informative hands-on experience that highlights the key advantages of the State.
