Advantage SA tour to showcase the new face of health in SA

Advantage SA will tomorrow host a two-day interstate and local media tour focused around the future direction of the State’s health industry. 

The two-day tour will feature a briefing from the Hon John Hill MP, SA Minister for Health and Dr David Panter, Executive Director, Health Reform, SA Health as well as a series of exclusive site visits and panel discussions focused on our nationally and internationally renowned industry, and the future of health care services in the State.

Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith said that the tour would expose guests to the latest news and initiatives facing health in South Australia.  

“The tour will showcase South Australia’s progressive health industry to interstate and local media, as well as key figures in the State’s corporate community.”

“We’ve worked very closely with SA Health and other industry associations towards ensuring that this tour highlights the plans and initiatives in place that will revolutionise our State’s healthcare facilities and systems in the next few years.”

 “Joining us on this tour will be industry media representing both local and national outlets including The Australian, Australian Associated Press, Australian Medicine, Australian Hospital and Healthcare Bulletin and the Sunday Mail.”      

Across the two days of the tour, guests will receive a briefing on the new Royal Adelaide Hospital and experience a panel discussion on SA’s new eHealth system, Australia’s first statewide integrated electronic Health Record. Guests will view the construction area of the new South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), and a site visit and briefing at the Lyell McEwin Hospital and discussion of the $201.65m works planned for Stage C redevelopments.

Thirty-one South Australian business leaders will join the media on the tour as a key benefit of Advantage SA Foundation and Major Corporate membership.

Supported by the Government of South Australia, Advantage SA’s Interstate Media Program looks to challenge and alter the perceptions held by editors and key interstate media representatives regarding South Australia. It aims to profile South Australia as a visionary, creative and innovative State, while providing a hands-on experience that highlights the key advantages of the State.
