2010 Annual Dinner set to be bigger than ever

20 September 2010

Tickets are now on sale for the 2010 Advantage SA Annual Dinner, the gala event that celebrates the State’s very best!

The event will take place on Friday 12 November at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and guests are being promised a spectacular evening of entertainment and indulgence.

In a first for the event, Advantage SA has partnered with Adelaide Casino to present guests with an impressive line up of award-winning performers. Guests will be entertained by the music of legendary Australian singer/songwriter Kate Ceberano, the newly appointed Artistic Director of the 2012 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, who will be accompanied by the Adelaide Art Orchestra, led by Timothy Sexton, the winner of the 2009 South Australian of the Year Arts Award.

Guests will groove to the tunes of one of Adelaide’s most soulful bands, The SHiZZLE, led by Brian Ruiz and enjoy Julian Morrow and Andrew Hansen from satirical comedy group The Chaser giving their humorous take on all things Adelaide.

Adelaide Casino General Manager David Christian said that Adelaide Casino was delighted to partner Advantage SA in the event.

“We are thrilled that our involvement in the Annual Dinner has allowed Advantage SA to bring the already high-standard of entertainment seen at the event to another level, particularly through the inclusion of headline act, iconic Australian performer Kate Ceberano,” Mr Christian said.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Advantage SA in making the Annual Dinner South Australia’s night of nights.”

In addition to the sensational entertainment line-up, the event will also feature the announcement of the State’s highest achievers for 2010, South Australian of the Year Award and the Young South Australian of the Year Award winners.

Advantage SA Chief Executive Officer Nikki Seymour-Smith encouraged South Australians to act quickly and book tickets for the black tie event so to avoid disappointment.

“The Annual Dinner has always been a highly-sought after event, last year the event sold out. This year it is going to be even bigger. The calibre of entertainment and food and wine that’s on offer is second to none.” Ms Seymour-Smith said.

“The event also the ideal forum to announce the 2010 South Australian of the Year Award and Young South Australian of the Year Award, celebrating South Australian success, and our State’s greatest talents.”

“Guests are guaranteed an unforgettable evening of entertainment and indulgence as we celebrate the best of South Australia.”

Guests will be treated to a delectable dinner designed and prepared by members of the Empirical Cuisine Collective consisting of some of State’s best chefs, Cole Thomas (Culinetic), Lachlan Colwill (The Manse), Harley Island (Star of Greece) and Ayhan Erkoc (Celsius) complemented by a quality selection of Grant Burge Wines.

Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith encouraged guests to attend the official event after-party, which will be hosted by the Adelaide Casino.

“To ensure the celebrations continue well in to the night, I encourage Annual Dinner guests to jump on the free tram from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre to join us at the Adelaide Casino for the official after party,” Ms Seymour-Smith said.

Adelaide Casino General Manager David Christian echoed Nikki’s sentiments and said that the after party will mark the beginning of a series of celebrations for Adelaide Casino’s upcoming 25th anniversary.

“The Annual Dinner after party will be held at the Chandelier Bar and will be an ideal way to mark the start of Adelaide Casino's 25th Anniversary Celebrations, which will include a range of activities right up until the new year,” Mr Christian said.

In 2009, 650 proud South Australians attended the sold out event celebrating the State in style. The 2010 Advantage SA Annual Dinner is certainly one not to be missed and numbers are limited.
