11th annual 2010 Regional Awards | Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island winners announced

Advantage SA announced the winners of the 2010 Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island Regional Awards at a special event In Normanville last night.
Amongst the winners announced at the presentation evening at the Links Lady Bay Resort last night were a Farmers Market, a winery, and the State’s largest single day multi triathlon.

Hosted by Channel 7 Discover SA presenter Peter Michell, the event was a spectacular occasion with more than 200 of the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island community coming together to celebrate and congratulate all winners and commendations. Amongst the guests on the night were the Mayor of the District Council of Mount Barker Ann Ferguson, Mayor of the District Council of Yankalilla Peter Whitford, and State Member for Finniss Michael Pengilly MP.
Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith congratulated all winners from the region on their success.

“Fox Creek Wines recent initiative is just one example of the many fantastic achievements that have come out of this region. Fox Creek Wines were awarded last night for their recent redesign of all their domestic wine labels to assist the visually-impaired to enhance their enjoyment of Fox Creek products. They are currently the only wine company in Australia that has large print and Braille on all the back labels of their wines.”
In addition, a business, community event and individual from the region were inducted in to the 2010 Telstra Hall of Fame, which recognises those who have won three or more Awards in the event’s history.
“Advantage SA would like to congratulate all Awards winners and entrants from the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island and looks forward to continuing to showcase the many wonderful success stories of this region.”
Ms Seymour-Smith encouraged the community to continue to support the Awards.
“The Regional Awards ensure that those who put in the hard work and time to promote and develop our regional areas receive public recognition for their contribution to their community and the State.”
Advantage SA Regional Awards winners will be publicly recognised for their achievements through their promotion in Advantage SA’s broader programs and the media.
To acknowledge their achievements, winners receive a Glass Pear Trophy. Designed and hand-made by the Jam Factory, the Regional Awards pear trophies have become iconic with the Regional Awards. Winners will also receive an honorary regional membership to Advantage SA in 2011, an invitation to an Awards celebration event in 2011 and an invitation to nominate for the Telstra Business Awards in 2011.
